“ "Love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination” Voltaire December 13, 2006 Greetings from Gus and Joanne, We hope that this holiday season brings you peace and happiness in great measure. Our hearts are full as we enjoy family, old and new friends as well as the opportunities each day brings for us to connect and collaborate with our NPN members.
This newsletter is chock full of ideas and inspirations offered by our members! We hope you will take the time to read the entire newsletter – we promise it will be worth your while. If you prefer to read it online, we will post it on our NPN website as soon as we can.
We are tremendously excited about the new possibilities appearing on the horizon for us and for the Nature Planning Network in 2007. We can’t give you details yet but we can tell you that the word “Communiversity” is at the center of several opportunities for NPN appearing on the horizon. Stay tuned for more news!!
Our love and best wishes go out to each and every one of you. Gus and Joanne

Welcome to New NPN Members
Recent lifetime members Ellen and Lloyd Wells pulled up stakes in Falmouth, Maine and moved for the winter to their new home in Fort Myers, Florida. They will undoubtedly be serving the common good and visionary future in Florida as they always have and we look forward to their return to Maine next summer.
After Bo Peabody and his wife took a travel vacation in Africa, the entrepreneur investment leader and founder of the investment group Village Ventures returned to Williamstown, Massachusetts, and joined the Nature Planning Network as a lifetime member. We look forward to Bo’s advice on our Community Investment Program.
John Spady, son of lifetime member Dick Spady, also joined us as a lifetime member. In his role as the leader of the many-to-many communication work of the Seattle based Forum Foundation, John is helping Unity Scholars and NPN gear up for use of the new Fast Forum software. Seth Itzkan, an NPN member, worked with John to develop this new interactive learning technology and methodology.
Carol Brewster, a new member from Manchester, Maine plans to move to Hanover, New Hampshire where she will be closer to some family members. We hope to work with her on events in that area which always unites activists from Vermont and New Hampshire.
New member Darien Crimmin, when he was a student leader at UVM, helped Gus organize and host the university’s first ever Future Fair – VISIONARY VERMONT. Now Darien has just accepted a position at Harvard helping the university plan, popularize and engage student participation in ambitious energy-saving projects throughout the huge campus. Darien recently completed a Master’s Degree at Tufts in community planning related to his new work at Harvard. Darien also works with Seth Itzkan on a project on th future of the Merrimack Valley mill towns in Massachusetts.
Jon Olsen has recently joined us from Jefferson, Maine where he is a social entrepreneur inspiring and helping other visionaries from fish farmers to former CIA leaders now become governmental watch dogs. Jefferson is having its 200th birthcay this year and Jon has engaged Gus to perform as Thomas Jefferson for the celebration.
Patricia Keene, a new member, is a topnotch health practitioner and a multi-capable Reiki healer at a local family health center. Her wisdom and spiritual experience graces every NPN event she is able to attend.
