COMMUNIVERSITY
               FOR THE 21ST  CENTURY

Join us on June 8 and 9, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m in
the Visitor Center at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester,
Maine for a journey into the future of learning!

Across the world and in our own country the seams that bind us together as
humans on this planet are being stretched and torn by poverty, religious
differences, isolation and the violence that results from these deep-rooted
problems.   Such crises require us to reinvent the ways we relate to each
other in our classrooms, our communities, and our nations.

Communiversities are learning centers in which whole communities learn
together, applying that learning to serve the needs of their organizations,
neighborhoods, towns and regions.   The outcomes of this kind of learning
include greater cohesion, collaboration and determination to work together to
enhance the quality of life, protect the environment and support the whole
family of life.

This conference is appropriate for educators, community organizers, town
leaders, business leaders and concerned citizens.  It will provide a profound
experience of learning in and through community and will deliver a new social
invention, the Communiversity, for sharing that experience with others.

Here are some of the attributes of a communiversity which we believe gives it
its power to revolutionize learning and to assist leaders to accomplish their
missions:

Characteristics of a Communiversity for the 21st Century:
·       multigenerational
·       real-time, spontaneous
·       understands and enacts its caregiving role in and with nature
·       whole being – body, mind, spirit
·       the entire community learns from and with each other
·       an environment where creativity is encouraged and enhanced
·       a celebrative spirit
* THE NEXT STEP IN THE EVOLUTION OF LEARNING

Benefits of Attending This Conference
The Conference will be an experience of communiversity in action.  You will
take away i
nnovative approaches to learning and leading that you can apply
immediately in your work and employ successfully in any community to which
you belong.  You will also take away
renewed optimism resulting from the
power of seeing how individual differences can be integrated for greater
creativity and harmony.  Finally, you will discover how universal patterns of
growth and development discovered in systems science can create
new
possibilities for community health and wealth
.

Here are some examples of the differences between current education and
learning in the Communiversity of the 21st Century.

*         Explanatory becomes exploratory

*         Student becomes designer

*         Reason is balanced with intuition

*         Industrial incorporates relational

*         Manager becomes co-creator

*        Curriculum agreement becomes social covenant

principles and practices derived from August Jaccaci's discovery of underlying
patterns of growth and development which are true in every case from an
individual life to the development of sustainable, reliable communities.  Jaccaci is
the author of
CEO Chief Evolutionary Officer: Leaders Mapping the Future.
He was Assistant to the President of Boston College for many years and also

Members of the Nature Planning Network  share their work with others through
our worldwide Network, our newsletter, website, and our conferences and
meetings on key  topics.  Another major focus is to use our insights and
discoveries to build communities in which all life is respected and preserved.
